Frankie & Henry

Frankie Enjoying her first off-leash hike!

I have an almost 10-year-old dachshund mix who’s generally well-behaved but rather stubborn, barks at the door, and has always been unsure around men. Emily immediately assured me that those behaviors could be worked through—and she was right. He gave us very little to work with at first, but Emily had an entire toolbox of approaches tailored to his personality, and we started making progress.

I adopted a chow/sheepdog/poodle mix in November who had me way in over my head. Her prey drive was intense, she escaped regularly (sometimes for hours), and walking both dogs at once felt impossible. I was drained. But Emily changed everything. She makes training real and relevant—we trained in parks, coffee shops, sidewalks, and other everyday places where we actually needed the skills to hold up. Since working with her, our walks are peaceful, my working dog can now be off-leash safely, and we’ve been able to enjoy camping and hiking without fear. It’s strengthened our bond, helped her trust me, and made life with two dogs not only manageable—but enjoyable.

A huge part of our progress was thanks to Atlas, Emily’s amazing dog. Atlas was a key part of our training journey—helping my dogs learn how to interact calmly and safely in a controlled, predictable environment. His energy, presence, and communication with my dogs broke down barriers we couldn’t overcome on our own. He’s an incredible asset to her training method.
